Help us reach our goal of 1,000 Meals!

Every community is home to families facing hunger. One in 3 people in Westchester county lack consistent access to adequate food. The number of families seeking food at local pantries has not decreased since the historic highs of the pandemic. As families struggle with rising costs for rent, transportation, and other necessities, food insecurity remains near record levels. For many, a Thanksgiving dinner is simply impossible.

You can help change this.

Last year, The Agape Project NY delivered nearly 900 meals to Exodus Transitional Community locations in Newburgh, Poughkeepsie and East Harlem. This year they are aiming to provide 1,000 meals with their 5th annual “A Thanksgiving to Share” initiative.

Exodus delivers innovative programming tailored to adults and youth affected by the justice system, and advocates for a society in which all can achieve social, economic, and spiritual well-being. Across their Newburgh, Poughkeepsie and East Harlem locations, 60-80% of Exodus program participants are parents of minor children predominantly under the age of 10, with household income averaging 200% below the federal poverty level. Over the last 20 years, Exodus has provided services to over 25,000 recipients via numerous programs offering housing assistance, work force development, multiple youth empowerment programs and an outpatient substance abuse program. Current Project: About

"I want to express my deepest gratitude for the Thanksgiving meal I received from your program. I live alone, and most of my family is gone or far away. Holidays can be difficult ; the quiet can feel heavy. But that day, when I opened the warm container and smelled the turkey and stuffing, I felt something I hadn’t felt in a while ; warmth and connection.

Your kindness reminded me of the days when my late wife and I would cook together and invite the neighbors over. I may have eaten alone, but I didn’t feel alone. You reminded me that I’m part of a larger family,  one built on compassion.

Thank you for remembering people like me. You turned what could have been another lonely day into one filled with gratitude."
